“Where we apply our dollars intelligently to the people who take care of children, we would spend millions of dollars less on the damage done to society by wounded adults. Wounded children become wounded adults, and wounded adults can destroy a planet.”

It is often said... It takes a village to raise a child...and while we agree, MJC is changing the way we do business in this village.

MJC brings the services families need, together under one roof, right in their neighborhood, with a focus on care and education for Central City's youngest residents, from birth to age 5, and their families. All families with Central City addresses qualify for full, free membership to Mahalia Jackson Center. Non-residents are welcome to join with other types of memberships.

Please call 504-359-6835 during the day Monday - Friday, or leave us a message after hours at 504-359-6800, and we will get you all the information you need about memberships and the services you can access at Mahalia Jackson Center.
