 Mahalia Jackson Center and Central City Early Childhood programs are run cooperatively by the

Orleans Parish School Board,

 Total Community Action (Early Head Start and Head Start programs) ,

and

the Early Childhood & Family Learning Foundation,

and serve children from birth through 5 years of age, offering quality Early Head Start, Head Start, LA4, Pre-K and Kindergarten programs.

A strong focus on literacy, math and communication, complemented with early childhood exposure to the arts and sciences and all the other care provided at Mahalia Jackson Center, starts all children on equal footing, ready to learn, and ready to successfully graduate from high school...
